This latest work was finally launched in 2006 whilst at a Residency in Australia (see Working/Exhibiting Overseas-"Mittagong Australia") from maquettes that had been on the studio shelf for a number of years! Essentially I see the work rooted in carving - they begin as small carved maquettes, are hand-built to finished size and the final form & surface is abraded like carving. The work refers to the abstractions of Henry Moore, an early hero, and the bio-morphic forms of Jean Arp.
