| A quote from an article about Keith
Rice-Jones, ART TEACHER OF THE YEAR, 1996: "In his own work as a recognized ceramic sculptor the same almost mythical or non-linear sense of time and space seems to pervade. These impressive clay pyramid enclosures are both cabinets with hinged doors and sacred shrines opening to reveal darkly mirrored interiors, suggesting the mysteries of the luminous inner self." |

Pyramids hold
an enduring fascination for us. They reflect he power and majesty
of mountains, on a human scale. As part of ancient cultures, they
spark our imagination with their sense of inherent mystery. These
stoneware and porcelain pyramids with their stony presence and gold embellishments,
are the same geometry as the Great Pyramid of Giza-the burial tomb of
the legendary Pharaoh, Cheops. This is the so-called 'magic pyramid'. It
is said to focus energy and give special poers through the resonance
of its internal geometry. |
